Raleigh.- If you bought a lottery ticket in Carteret County, you may be the lucky winner of $1,120,665.
The state lottery NC Education Lottery reported that the person who purchased the Fast Play ticket on Saturday morning won the largest jackpot in that game’s history.
The lucky guy bought the $20 100X The Cash ticket at the Handy House Gas Station #2 on US 70 in Smyrna.
At the time of purchase, the jackpot was $920,665.
Since it was a $20 ticket, the winner receives 100% of the $920,665 top prize plus $200,000 cash.
The previous maximum jackpot for a Fast Play jackpot was $691,417 in November 2020.
The previous maximum the jackpot amount reached was in January 2021 when it reached $747,482 before a jackpot claimed half that amount.
The odds of winning a Fast Play jackpot are 1 in 320,000.
The winner has 180 days to claim the prize at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.
