At the first intermediate point, Kopecky was already 22 seconds ahead of the surprising triathlete Sara Van de Vel after 13.9 km. In the end, she rode Van de Vel in one minute and one second. Julie Van de Velde was third on the podium.

Rutger Wouters crowns himself Belgian champion among elite riders without a contract
The 29-year-old Rutger Wouters (Thielemans-De Hauwere) on Thursday on and around the military domain of Koksijde was crowned Belgian time trial champion among the elite riders without a contract. Wouters finished after 27.7 kilometers in 35:28, just ten seconds faster than David Boucher, who had to be satisfied with the silver medal. Benjamin Verraes finished third, at 0:37 from the brand new Belgian champion.
