Offenbach (dpa) – Feeling like summer again: with a maximum of 26 degrees and sunshine, it is best to do it between the Upper Rhine and central Germany at the beginning of the week. Already this Sunday it can be 25 degrees in southern Germany, as announced Saturday in Offenbach by the German Meteorological Service (DWD).

Otherwise it is still unstable and cooler. It rains in a belt that goes from the Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate to Saxony, in the north it is cloudy and it is no hotter than a maximum of 20 degrees.

On Monday all of Germany – with the exception of the far north – can expect values above 20 degrees. Also, it is mostly dry at first and the sun comes out. It only rains on the Frisian coast. During the day, heavy showers and thunderstorms will move from the north-west, which will also reach the south and east by Tuesday.

Summer values in October occur again and again. Monthly records for Germany exceed 30 degrees, as announced by DWD meteorologist Felix Dietzsch. In the middle of the week, however, it also cools down noticeably. A new high will bring “a return to calmer autumn weather at seasonally average temperature levels with early sun and fog.”
