Leif Einar Lothe (52), better known as «Lothepus», is currently relevant with the TV 2 program Lothepus camping. The 52-year-old is scheduled to build there Norway’s roughest campsite in Odda, with stave church, small planes, longhouse and excavator museum.

“Lothepus” first became known to the Norwegian people in 2014, through «Fjorden cowboys». But that was not until 2017, when he participated in – and eventually won – «The farm celebrity»that “Odda’s great chief” got his real breakthrough.

– Money in the hat
Lothe has previously been open about bringing money into the “Farmen kjendis” farm during the recording, primarily to bribe other participants. Now he reveals more details about the cheating that was going on – and which was never shown on TV.

– It is not true. But yes, I had money in my hat. There was double skin in the hat, so I had the patches lying around my whole head. I’m not stupid, and I had to. Because I did not bother to walk around that yard and wash my clothes myself, he says and laughs.

– No, I think I had with me around 30,000, says the TV profile, which was never taken for the violation.

– It was a hell of a mess. The production found a 500-note in Lavrans’ bag (Solli, journ. Note), and they wondered where in all the days it came from. It must have fallen out of my hat and I just tied it up. Lavrans also had no idea where the 500 note came from. But no, I was never caught for that.

Would take the blame myself
He states that he had several thousand kronor left in his famous hat at the moment he went all the way to the top – and finally traveled from the TV recording.
– We enjoyed ourselves, we, ha ha. I made a smuggling route to the farm as well – to get cigarettes and such, but TV 2 still did not understand how I managed it. Nobody has understood that, he says.

– So how did you do it?
– It’s still a secret. But I get most of it and am a bit of a “mafia”. But we never smuggled in food and such, we probably got one box of beer I think – max. And then I smuggled in cigarettes once a week. Unfortunately, the horse ate up half every time. So finally I was told by TV 2 that I had to stop giving the horse tobacco.

The “farm celebrity” winner is also said to have had coffee, as well as chocolate smuggled in to his female participants.
– I told them that everything had to go through me, so that they themselves were not taken for anything. It was better that I was eventually thrown out. I was not there to win anyway, he tells See and Hear.
