Minister Palacios said that the arrival of this batch will allow the inoculation process to be speeded up, and highlighted the work carried out by President Francisco Sagasti and the ministers of State in the negotiation of vaccines that will benefit more citizens in the national territory. .
“The arrival of these doses gives us hope, because it is necessary to advance more quickly with this immunization process. This batch comes thanks to the efforts of our Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Health and the efforts led by the President of the Republic, Francisco Sagasti, and the president of the Council of Ministers, Violeta Bermúdez, in closing a new contract with Pfizer ”, he said.
As indicated by the government, during the month of May, Peru will receive 700,000 Pfizer vaccines each week. It is for this reason that another batch of 350 thousand doses of Pfizer is expected tomorrow.
It should be noted that President Francisco Sagasti announced that he closed the purchase of 12 million additional Pfizer vaccines, with which a total of 60 million doses are added to inoculate the entire population of the country.
“This will be delivered before the end of the year, with which we complete 60 million doses to vaccinate all Peruvians before the end of the year,” said the president yesterday.
In that sense, the Transitional and Emergency Government stressed its commitment to immunize all the country’s older adults before the change of command on July 28.
To date, 1,241,000 Peruvians have received their first dose of vaccine, and 651,000 are already protected with the two doses.
