The votes on the Burka initiative or the Eichwaldhof design plan in Oberi are getting closer. The voting envelopes should actually be in the mailboxes of Winterthur residents by Friday at the latest. Not so with a «Landbote» reader from the Mattenbach district. Her envelope is still missing on February 15th. For her father “a scandal”. The city says: “This can happen occasionally, but we have not been able to determine an accumulation of cases.”
By Monday evening there was a single case in which the voting envelope had not arrived, said Luca Fasnacht, deputy head of the voting office of the city of Winterthur. “On average, we get around 10 to 15 reports of missing or no longer findable envelopes per vote.” In total, the city sends around 70,000 letters per vote. So far everything has been going normally.
