Lost Potential: The Fate of Indonesian U-23 AFF Cup Winners

Bola.net – The Indonesian national team won the 2019 U-23 AFF Cup. However, the title is not a guarantee for Indra Sjafri’s players to have a glorious career.

Several members of the Indonesian national team squad at the 2029 U-23 AFF Cup still exist at the top level. Witan Sulaeman, Andy Setyo, and Dimas Drajad are still in the Indonesian National Team, at the senior level.

Then, there are Firza Andika, Hanif Sjahbandi, and Bagas Adi who regularly play for the team. Fredyan Wahyu and Sani Rizky also have good careers. Asnawi Mangkualam is the most brilliant because he is now playing in South Korea.

However, there are some players who are not lucky enough. Injuries make them have to ‘disappear’ from circulation. There are also players who are missing because their performance continues to decline, making it difficult to find a club.

Who are the ‘missing’ players from the 2019 AFF U-23 Cup winning squad? Come on, see the full review below, Bolaneters.

In the final match, Nurhidayat partnered with Bagas Adi at the heart of Indonesia’s defense. They played very solidly and were the key to the victory for Indra Sjafri’s squad.

Nurhidayat had played for the League 2 club, PSG Pati (now Bekasi City FC). In the last two seasons, his name has been listed as part of the Bhayangkara FC squad. It’s just that, Nurhidayat very rarely gets minutes to play.

Samuel Christianson became part of the Indonesian national team in various age groups. However, until now he has never received a call at the senior level.

Even though he is a member of the national team for his age group, Samuel’s career at club level was not that special. Samuel is very rarely the first choice, even though he always plays for a Liga 1 club. Last season, he only played for 15 minutes for PSM Makassar.
