lost match for the Chamois

The competitions commission of the Professional Football League decided on Wednesday to give a lost match on the green carpet (3-0) to Niort, sanctioned for not having provided the medical certificates of its players after the deprogramming of the match against Valenciennes, on 22 December. The LFP competitions committee met this Wednesday in Paris to rule on the fate of the Niort-Valenciennes meeting, a match counting for the 17th day of L2, and deprogrammed by the League after the decision of the Niortais not to play it in because of three cases of Covid-19 and a dozen suspicions in their ranks. According to the LFP, Niort, current 9th in L2, was “not able to provide the medical monitoring certificates from his sports delegation for the match in question”. The Niort leaders have explained from the start that they did not provide these documents because they feared a cluster within the group and that there was therefore no longer any question of playing the meeting.

In addition to the first three proven cases (Paro, Moutachy and Louiserre), four other cases occurred, confirmed the following week (Braat, Ibnou Ba, Sébastien Desabre and his assistant Sébastien Migné). According to the health protocol of the League, the clubs must provide before each match a certificate certifying that each member of their delegation selected for the match has tested negative for coronavirus two to three days before the match and does not show symptoms of the disease. . Without this document, the League can decide a postponement of the match or a defeat on the green carpet for the offending club. If a club has fewer than 20 players including a goalkeeper on a list of 30 communicated to the League, the match is postponed according to the same protocol.
