Lost Items? MIT Engineer Team Creates Lost Item Search Robot

Nationalgeographic.co.id—A busy worker is ready to walk out the door, only to realize they have lost their keys and must search through the piles of belongings to find them. Quickly sifting through the mess, they hoped to figure out which pile had the key.

Researchers at WITH has created a system robot who can do such a troublesome thing. RFusion is arm robot with a camera and radio frequency (RF) antenna attached to the gripper. Robot it combines the signal from the antenna with the visual input from the camera to locate and retrieve objects, even if the object is buried under a pile and is completely out of sight.

Using machine learning, arm robot automatically aims at the exact location of the object, moves the item over it, grips the object, and verifies that it has picked up the correct object. Camera, antenna, arm robot, and AI is fully integrated, so RFusion can work in any environment without requiring special setup.
