FC Einsiedeln is defeated by FC Grenchen with 0: 3 – but can hardly be relegated
It was not meant to be. Although at least visually equal, a clear final result was on the scoreboard on Saturday evening. Einsiedeln zero, Grenchen three. But the FCE will not be relegated anyway.

Nothing came of the hoped-for “Schuelreisli” from FC Grenchen to Einsiedeln. Although it was already clear for the Solothurn team before the game on the Rappenmöösli that they had secured their place in the top third of the table, they insisted on playing in this match and showing their callousness in front of the goal. With Marco D’Alto, Jan Auf der Maur, Donik Ajredini, Riccardo Gerlach, Samuel Pfyl, Kevin Egger, Lukas Espinosa and Marko Prskalo, the speaker did not present the line-up before the match, but thanked those players who supported the FCE played their last home game and will leave the club at the end of the season. A long list.
First 15 minutes for the home side Except for the absent Prskalo and Auf der Maur, it was enough for all of them to play at least one part. After the two defeats in Adliswil and Rotkreuz it was clearly noticeable that the boys from coach Manfred Auf der Maur wanted to say goodbye to the home crowd with a decent appearance.
So the starting quarter of an hour belonged to the home side. But then Grenchen’s Captain Samuel Zayas turned out to be the real spoilsport. Cleared offside suspiciously on the right side, he gave goalkeeper Räber no chance and sunk the ball in the top left corner. “Copy / Paste” in stoppage time in the first half. Pass to Zayas, who in turn waited for his chance in a half-right position, a solid shot into the top left corner of the goal. Break whistle. An FCE who tried hard but was too harmless for long stretches had to change half of the pitch with a 0: 2 mortgage.
Manfred Auf der Maur didn’t just want to give in. After 58 minutes he brought in Samuel Pfyl for Marco D’Alto. The signs were thus put on the offensive early on. From then on, Raphael Petrig defended alone in the middle. But before the system change could settle down to some extent, it was 0: 3. Dakaj used Nussbaumer’s fine preparatory work to make the final decision.
And it could have been even worse if a man from Grenchen had not hit the ball in front of the empty goal. Rotschwarz recovered, further changes followed, the game babbled on until Oliver Borner breathed life into the spectators and players on the pitch again in the 88th minute. Acrobatically he hammered the ball across the air. A hit from the brand special class! How would you have given that to him, how would you have allowed the coach, the staff, the whole team? Not so the assistant referee. The splendid hit fell victim to the line judge’s tough offside decision.
Schützenhilfe of FC Lachen
It really wasn’t meant to be. But the competition played for the FCE. At least FC Lachen / Altendorf finished off FC Ägeri 7: 4. Ägeri is definitely relegated to the 2nd regional division. Theoretical chances for relegation, however, still have FC Adliswil, which is three points behind the Klosterdörflern before the last round, but has more penalty points. If the FCE can no longer be guilty of any penalties, they will continue to play nationwide in the next season.
