The game Lost Ark from Korea is reminiscent of Diablo 3 in terms of gameplay, but with raids, crafting, housing and PvP offers all the important elements that make an MMORPG. It has been able to be played in Korea since 2018. It is now officially clear that it will come to us in Europe and that as soon as next year.
How does the game come to us? Amazon Games announced on August 20th that they had entered into a collaboration with Korean developer and publisher Smilegate. Smilegate is the developer of Lost Ark and is already looking for employees for a release in Europe.
According to the press release, the collaboration is about the publishing of a new game that will be released in the West next year, i.e. in 2021.
Lost Ark was not officially named there, but confirmed that Korean website Gamecathat Amazon is said to have signed an exclusive publication deal for Lost Ark for North America and Europe.

What does that mean for us? Lost Ark should officially appear with us in 2021. An exact release date is not yet available.
Since Amazon takes care of sales, we can probably count on German localization. After all, Amazon also offers this for its own games such as New World and Crucible an.

Lost Ark is a highly anticipated game
What is Lost Ark anyway? In the action MMORPG you create a hero, explore a large fantasy world with friends in which you fight monsters and do quests on the side. It is also necessary to improve your hero using skills and equipment.
- There are 12 classes with different skills.
- In raids you face powerful boss opponents together.
- The game is played from the iso perspective (“diagonally from above”), as is known from Hack ‘n’ Slays.
- PvP takes place in an arena where you compete with other players.
- It is possible to move into your own house and use it as a warehouse for equipment that is not required.

How is Lost Ark doing? Lost Ark has been continuously expanded over the past few years. So there was, for example already some new classes, new continents, dungeons and a major expansion of the housing system. You can get an overview of the complete development of Lost Ark here.
Lost Ark is one of the most anticipated games here on MeinMMO, right behind New World and Ashes of Creation. This is mainly due to the action-packed combat system, the interesting setting with steampunk influences and the fact that it just looks like a well-rounded and functioning MMORPG.
Not for nothing does it belong to the new MMOs that I, Alexander Leitsch, believe will hit the mark immediately after release.
