Dobelnieki gave up the Estonian team “Viljandi” in their field with 22:24 (7:12).

Austris Tuminskis and Oskars Arājs scored four goals for the home team, and Stens Māsalu and Ots Variks scored five goals for the opponents.

“Ogre” also suffered a loss, which at home with 30:37 (15:17) acknowledged the superiority of another Estonian unit Rāsiku “Mistra”.

Tom Lielais scored eight goals in the Latvian team, Aleksandrs Pacikailiks and Aleksandrs Haisa scored six goals each. Martins Neruts celebrated nine times in the Estonian club.

The Dobele team has won in two of the three games and is in fifth place, but “Ogre” and Ludza’s “Latgols” have lost in all three battles, taking 11th and 13th place in the 13-team competition, respectively.

This season there are 13 teams in the Baltic Handball League. Estonia and Lithuania have five units. For Estonia they are “Tapa”, “Viljandi”, Rāsiku “Mistra”, “Kehra” and Põlva “Serviti”, Lithuania is represented by Alytus “Varsa – Stronglasa”, Kaunas “Granitas – Karys”, Klaipeda “Dragunas”, Vilnius “Šviesa” and “Vilnius”, but Latvia – the previous season’s Latvian champion Dobele “Tenax”, “Ogre” and Ludza “Latgols”. This season, one of the leading domestic teams of the last season, Riga “Celtnieks”, is not starting in any of the tournaments.

The winners of the previous season’s league were Klaipeda “Dragunas”, who won Vilnius “Švieša” in the final.

Latvian teams – Dobele “Tenax”, Riga “Celtnieks”, “Ogre” and Ludza “Latgols” – were forced to terminate their participation in the league due to Covid-19 restrictions.
