Fahmy also revealed that strategic areas in big cities, such as Jakarta considered less competitive with foreign service stations. This includes better service at foreign gas stations, than at Pertamina petrol station.

“I suspect that Pertamina gas stations are losing competitiveness to foreign gas stations, especially if they are located near foreign gas stations, because foreign gas stations have better service, so consumers move,” he said.

“In the future, the gas station will also enter an industrial sunset, it will sink if the electric car community gets bigger and many of them switch to electric cars. So that sales at gas stations are decreasing,” he said.
