TIMNAS Indonesia lost 0-1 to Jordan on the second matchday of Group A of the 2023 Asian Cup Qualification which took place at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, Kuwait City, Sunday (12/6/2022) early morning WIB. Despite losing, the Indonesian national team still has the chance to qualify for the Asian Cup 2023here are the calculations.
Currently, the Jordanian national team is still at the top of Group A with six points. Meanwhile, the Indonesian and Kuwaiti national teams both collected three points and took second and third positions.
The Indonesian national team occupies a better position than Kuwait because it is superior to head-to-head. For your information, the Indonesian national team won 2-1 over Kuwait in the first meeting.
After losing to Jordan, the Garuda squad can qualify for the 2023 Asian Cup by only one route, namely the five best runners-up. To win the status of the five best runners-up, the Indonesian national team must win over Nepal, plus hope that Kuwait will draw or lose to Jordan in the final matchday.
