Lose Weight Fast At Start Of Diet – Hossam Mowafi Explains Why

Dr. Hossam Mowafi, Professor of Critical Cases at Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine, confirmed that body weight decreases very rapidly in the first few days of following the diet, then the rate of weight loss decreases significantly.

Mowafi said on his “My Lord, Increase Me in Knowledge” program on the Sada Al-Balad channel that the metabolic process at the start of the diet witnesses a number of physiological changes, the most important of which is frequent urination.

The intensive care professor added that frequent urination helps the body get rid of the fluids it has gained from simple carbohydrates and salts, emphasizing that the weight the body loses at the beginning of the diet is not due to fat, but rather to the water.

She explained that after the body gets rid of the fluids trapped inside it at the beginning of the diet, it starts burning the fat stored in the abdomen, waist and buttocks, but at a slower rate.

Muwafi emphasized the possibility of weight gain after obesity surgeries, especially if the patient did not adhere to the doctor’s instructions regarding diet.

Muwafi mentioned sleeve gastrectomy, explaining that in this surgery the surgeon shrinks it by cutting off part of it, but it could grow back in size if the patient eats too much after the surgery.
