Suara.com – Smoothies are nutrient-rich drinks because they consist of a mixture of fruit or vegetables that are often added with milk, yogurt, honey, and coconut milk which are blended together.
Because it is rich in healthy nutrients and low in calories, it is what makes smoothies your go-to when dieting for weight loss. But can smoothies be a substitute food a full day?
Podusen smoothie CEO and co-founder of Joomba Indonesia, Wendy Noel Wijaya, said smoothies can be a substitute for food, but he doesn’t recommend doing them every day.
“Actually it could, but not in continuous times like that, because everyone has their own health profile back again. So I’m afraid someone has special needs, tries this, then it becomes a problem,” said Wendy when met at Gran Rubina. , South Jakarta, Wednesday (26/5/2021).

Instead of replacing eat with a full day of smoothies, Wendy actually suggests changing part of the time to eat smoothies to reduce daily calorie intake.
“Diet is actually a calorie deficit, we need 2000 calories per day minimum. If you want a diet, you have to consume foods below, for example 1800 or 1700,” explained Wendy.
So adequate meal times are replaced with breakfast (breakfast) and dinner-only smoothies. Meanwhile, eat lunch as usual.
For example, if breakfast porridge, the calories reach 500 to 600. Whereas if you replace it with a smoothie, the calories enter 170 to 250 so that calorie intake can be reduced by 25 percent to 50 percent.
Furthermore, lunch can be eaten as usual without needing to be replaced by a smoothie. But at dinner it can be replaced by a smoothie again.
“If we replace breakfast and dinner, the calories are only 400 to 500, so we can eat better for lunch. So we can have that deficit,” said Wendy.
As a result, he hopes his Joomba smoothie product can help those who are running a diet program or losing weight.
“So that way we hope customers can help lose weight,” concluded Wendy.
