LOSC targets Jonathan David to replace Victor Osimhen

In search of offensive reinforcements to replace Loïc Rémy and Victor Osimhen, the LOSC would have set its sights on the highly sought after Canadian international Jonathan David (20), who plays at La Gantoise.

Co-top scorer in the Belgian championship with 18 goals, Jonathan David is one of the most courted young strikers on the European market. According to Daniel Riolo, who released the news last night in After Foot, the LOSC thinks of him to replace Victor Osimhen, who will almost certainly leave the Mastiffs this summer, even if his destination remains to be defined (he was at Naples yesterday, but nothing is done).

Dogues’ interest in Jonathan David, also associated with OL and Barça last winter, has been confirmed by La Voix du Nord, which even presents it as Lille’s priority to replace Osimhen. The regional daily specifies that the player was seduced by the speech of Luis Campos, but adds that competition is strong in this case, which would push La Gantoise to claim no less than 30 million euros.

Jonathan David scored 23 goals this season

Capable of playing as well on the edge as in a two-player attack, or even in support of a striker, Jonathan David scored 23 goals in all competitions this season and also delivered 10 assists. Under contract until 2023, he was one of the new stars of Canada’s selection with Alphonso Davies, with whom he had already scored 11 goals in 12 selections.

According to La Voix du Nord, LOSC is also targeting a more experienced striker to succeed Loïc Rémy (33), who was to extend his contract at the Mastiffs, but ultimately preferred to sign at Benevento, where a three-year contract awaits him.
