The Guatemalan Consulate in Los Angeles, California, United States, will receive 10,000 passport cards in the next few days, said Consul José Rodríguez, adding that the Guatemalan Migration Institute (IGM) will send those supplies.
A few days ago, the deputy Édgar Batres of the Winaq block warned that about 25 thousand Guatemalan fellow citizens had completed their procedures to obtain passports, but to date they were waiting for it to be delivered due to the lack of cards.
Batres expressed that they will follow up and monitor the work of the IGM, because most of the consulates in the United States report delays in the delivery of that document.
Congressman Edgar Batres, from the Winaq bloc, met with Consul José Rodríguez and Vice Consul Hernán Hernández, from Los Angeles, California, United States, to address issues related to passbooks and unaccompanied migrant children.

He also indicated that they will verify compliance with the delivery of other supplies such as the Personal Identification Document (DPI), although in this matter the institution in charge is the National Registry of Persons (Renap).
