The first two graduating generations of the Master’s Degree in Didactics for Methodological Classroom Work had their graduation ceremony.
The 2018-2019 generations participated in an emotional ceremony that allowed them to share with the students the obtaining of their academic degree.
“This ceremony represents an academic milestone, not only for the School of Education of the University of Concepción, but also for the Los Angeles Campus, as it is the first self-managed program that has the privilege of celebrating the graduation of its first two generations, of the five that are already part of it”, highlighted the Dr. A.S. Gonzalo Aguayo CisternsProgram Director.
In addition, he highlighted the importance of having overcome all the difficulties imposed by the non-attendance due to the pandemic.
“Not only should it be considered a purely numerical issue, but also a human one, since our program only began to be taught in the second semester of 2018 and was faced with challenges and difficulties that all of us have experienced in a dramatic way from that time until now, from the social and health level, in our country. Therefore, in this sense, we assign a special value to this event as a program, considering the circumstances in which we have carried out our work. It was an outstanding debt to our students,” he said.
For its part, Damaris Sepulvedaa student of the master’s degree who was in charge of the speeches on behalf of both generations of graduates, highlighted in her speech the formative role of the University of Concepción.
“Recognize this institution that initially trained me in teaching more than ten years ago, as well as several colleagues, and that thanks to the constant desire for improvement and professional improvement of all of us who are here, we were able to count on the tools necessary and updated of the profession both in didactics, methodology, evaluation, educational policies offered in this master’s degree “.
Master’s program today
With the qualification of the first generations, a process that aims at accreditation also begins, as highlighted by the person in charge of the program.
“We are at a stage in which we begin a self-assessment process, which will allow us to project ourselves through a development and improvement plan, which will allow this process to develop permanently to strengthen us as a program for the future. This mechanism, which the University has institutionalized for all programmes, is called MAQ (Model for Quality Assurance in the Training Process), and will allow a series of actions aimed at continuous improvement to be carried out. All of this is geared towards the accreditation process, which is our purpose of being able to start it in the current year”, highlighted the academic.
