The Nancy prosecutor’s office opened an investigation after the death on Sunday morning of a 44-year-old man, knocked down in Baccarat (Meurthe-et-Moselle) by a car in which were his companion and her lover, according to information from our colleagues at The Republican East.
This flagrance procedure was opened for attempted voluntary homicide and the two occupants of the car were taken into custody. “It is very likely” that the young woman, born in 1988, was driving at the time of the impact, according to the public prosecutor, François Pérain.

A background of “love rivalry”
According to witnesses, Sunday morning around 5:30 am, as the vehicle was about to leave, the victim went to the front of the car, banging against the window and repeating several times: “Don’t leave”.
He was probably speaking to his concubine, boarded in the company of her lover, owner of the vehicle. The car then “accelerated strongly and took the victim for a hundred meters, until it hit a second vehicle”, still according to François Pérain.
The driver then fled but the young woman and her lover were arrested a few hours later at Nancy hospital. The victim had been evacuated by the firefighters, in a state of brain death, to the Central Hospital of Nancy, before dying a few hours later.
