60 new infections have been reported to the health department since yesterday. This increases the 7-day incidence again slightly to 175.9 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.
Nine more deaths were reported, some of them being late reports of deaths over the Christmas holidays. Six of the people were nursing home residents between the ages of 80 and 100 years. Two people were over 70 years old, and one was over 50 years old.
128 people with Covid-19 infection are currently being treated in hospitals inside and outside the district. 13 people need intensive medical care, 11 of whom need ventilation.
Another 61 people were released from quarantine. The number of active cases in the district is now 754. The number of close contacts who are in quarantine is 437.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 5,564 people from the Lörrach district have been infected with SarsCoV-2, of which a total of 4,667 are considered recovered. There have been 143 deaths since the pandemic began.
