“Loriot’s Great Animated Film Revue: A Hilarious Journey through 31 Beloved Classics”

Two gentlemen in the bathroom, a talking dog, the pitfalls of a TV evening or an over-boiled breakfast egg. The characters and scenes from Loriot’s cartoons have accompanied and delighted people for over five decades.

“Loriots Große Trickfilmrevue”, the collected animated film work by what is probably the most important and versatile German humorist of the 20th century, will be shown for the first time in the cinema at CINEWORLD Mainfrankenpark on Thursday, April 20 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, April 23 at 1 p.m.

In the year of Loriot’s 100th birthday, Bettina and Susanne von Bülow together with director Peter Geyer present “Loriot’s great animated film revue”. A hilarious foray into 31 beloved animated classics originally made for television. In the spirit of Loriot, they were carefully redrawn, some colored for the first time and transferred to cinema format. Now they can be re-experienced on the big screen in unprecedented brilliance. A unique re-encounter with Loriot.

Loriot’s masterful use of the German language has meant that many formulations from his sketches have become common parlance, e.g. “Please don’t say anything now!”, “There used to be more tinsel!” or “Heinzelmann sucks and blows, where Mommy can only suck.” The same applies to Loriot’s linguistic inventions for his cartoons: “The duck stays outside!”, “The dog can’t speak at all.”, “I won’t let a broken television dictate when I have to go to bed!” or “The egg is hard.” The appropriate images and scenes probably appear immediately before the inner eyes of most people.

Tickets can be booked online at www.cineworld-main.de but a ticket office is also open in CINEWORLD itself. Current information is also available on Facebook and Instagram (@cineworld.mainfrankenpark).
