Clear yes to the expansion of the Loreto school building

With 6447 votes in favor to 384 against, the population of Stadtzug clearly approved the property loan of CHF 20.65 million. The Loreto school complex can now be expanded by two buildings.

The cooperative upper level of the city of Zug with secondary, secondary and works school is housed in the Loreto school complex. This was already put into operation in 1969. As the city of Zug writes in a press release, the system is reaching its capacity limits due to the increasing number of schoolchildren. With the yes to the ballot box, an optimal atmosphere can be created again, as City Councilor Vroni Straub-Müller, Head of the Education Department, says:
«Good learning needs good framework conditions. Thanks to the approval of the voters for the Loreto extension, we are creating an optimal learning and working atmosphere for schoolchildren and teachers. “

This construction project goes back to a competition won by the Zug architects Gauch & Schwartz. The project provides for the facility to be expanded by two buildings: on the one hand for school use, on the other hand for supplementary school care. The start of construction for the 20.65 million Swiss franc project is expected to start in the summer of 2022. A construction period of two years is expected. (work)
