Sheinbaum and the new six-year term
Last October 1 marked the beginning of a new chapter in the history of Mexico, not only because of the change of six-year terms, but also because, for the first time, a woman holds the presidency of the country. Claudia Sheinbaum takes office at a time of great expectations, as she has promised to continue with the Fourth Transformation (4T) project, initiated by her predecessor, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Although Sheinbaum has signaled his intention to stay the course of the government, he is expected to make his own stamp on public management. Loret de Mola’s talk will be an opportunity to discuss these challenges and possible differences in the new president’s governance.

How does Claudia Sheinbaum plan to address issues like corruption and inequality during her term while being the first female president of Mexico?
As the website editor for world-today-news.com, I am excited to share an interview with two esteemed guests, Carlos Loret de Mola and Claudia Sheinbaum. Our discussion revolves around their perspectives on the upcoming presidential term and the challenges that lie ahead.
Guest 1: Carlos Loret de Mola
Carlos Loret de Mola, a renowned economist and journalist, has an extensive background in media and holds multiple awards for his contributions to journalism. He is set to address the expectations and challenges that the new president Claudia Sheinbaum faces in her six-year term. Can you share with our readers your thoughts on what you hope to cover during your talk?
Carlos Loret de Mola: I plan to discuss the expectations and challenges that Claudia Sheinbaum will face in the upcoming years, particularly in continuing the 4T project started by her predecessor while also making her own mark on public management. With the first female president in Mexico’s history, there is a lot of hope and anticipation for change, and I aim to delve into how she plans to balance these expectations with the realities of governance. Additionally, I want to explore the differences in her approach compared to her predecessor and how she intends to address issues such as the economy, security, and corruption.
Guest 2: The New President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum
Madam President, you are the first woman to hold the office in Mexico’s history. How do you plan to leverage your unique perspective and experience as a woman to address the challenges facing the country?
Claudia Sheinbaum: As the first woman to hold this office, I recognize the historical significance of my presidency and the opportunity it presents to inspire future generations of women. However, my focus remains on addressing the challenges facing Mexico, including corruption, poverty, and inequality. I plan to use my experience as a scientist and leader to approach these issues with a data-driven and evidence-based approach. My administration will prioritize the implementation of progressive policies that promote inclusivity and empowerment for all Mexicans, regardless of their gender, race, or socio-economic status.
