Lorenza Cingoli, television author of Melevisione and Albero Azzurro, screenwriter of films such as the cartoon «Johan Padan a la descoverta de le Americas», created together with Dario Fo and presented at the Venice Film Festival in 2002, has died at the age of 58.
He worked at Melevisione from 2004 to 2015 and All’Albero Azzurro from 1996 to 2003. The announcement was made by Rai with Rai Kids. The children’s TV community remembers her as a “lively and highly professional” person.
Lorenza Cingoli was born in Ancona in 1965 and then moved to Milan, where she studied modern and contemporary history at the State University. You obtained a PhD in Economic History from Bocconi University.
During his career he also created the television magazine «The Advent calendar» for Rai Gulp (2019) and the feature film «Berni and the young pharaoh», set in the rooms of the Egyptian Museum of Turin, together with Martina Forti, as well as to fiction for children and books and stories for young and very young people. It was in the RAI headquarters in Turin that he was in recent months writing the program «Calzino».
Among the memorable works there is also the creation of the Junior TV rabbit.
Alongside her work as a television author, she has also worked as a writer of children’s novels. In 2018 you published the collection of legends «The most beautiful stories of Ancient Rome» (Gribaudo) and the novel «The secret of Lucina» (Einaudi Ragazzi). In 2020, on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Raphael’s death, she wrote the novel «Raphael and the shining scorpion», up to the more recent «The most beautiful stories of the Iliad» also written together with Martina Forti (again Gribaudo).
