Tlaxcala, Tlax, September 3, 2021 (Editorial Office) .- Governor Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros inaugurated at the Polytechnic University of Tlaxcala (UPTx) two buildings that will house the teaching unit, laboratories and workshops, spaces that had a total investment of 44 million 925 thousand 720 pesos.
The state president accompanied by the Secretary of Public Education of the State, Homero Meneses Hernández; of the rectors of this institution of higher education and of the Technological University of Tlaxcala (UPTx) Enrique Padilla Sánchez and Marco Antonio Hernández, respectively; made the cutting of the inaugural ribbon and the unveiling of the commemorative plaques to later tour the new spaces that will be used by the student community.
Before directors, academics, teachers and outstanding students, Cuéllar Cisneros verified that the resource designated by the President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, was invested in the construction of dignified and first-class classrooms.
He stressed that the automotive sector is one of the fastest growing industries in Tlaxcala, so it is vitally important that students prepare so that upon graduating from UPTx they have the skills and abilities required by companies in the field.
“Today we see how things can be done, when they have the desire to improve themselves, I see a great opportunity in many other areas such as the automotive industry, which is very important in Tlaxcala, we have many companies that provide good jobs, but they are for young people from Puebla. who are more prepared, therefore, today you will have this joy of reaching these companies because they will be well trained, “he stressed.
In the same way, she reiterated to those present that she will be a close governor, that she listens to them and that she will be present in each of the UPTx’s achievements, since that motivates her to work every day and create a new history for the entity.
In his speech, the rector Enrique Padilla Sánchez thanked the governor for his confidence to begin with his government a new history in higher education, so it will be governed by the principles of not stealing, not lying and not betraying.
“When a server arrived at this university we had a small credibility deficit, some scandals, lack of transparency in the use of public resources and sexual harassment, today with this team that accompanies me we fix everything and make the administrative processes transparent, we fully check the expenses before the federation and the state and to this day we are among the first auditable entities that approve the public account ”, he highlighted.
He added that the pandemic encouraged them to make a paradigm shift, which is why in this school period they began to give semi-face-to-face classes to 1,200 students in laboratories and classes to 6,000 students with the “UPTx Virtual Campus” platform created by students, programmers and academics of this house of studies.
In this virtual space, educational programs are offered at the bachelor’s level, specialties, postgraduates, diplomas and updating courses and online continuing education through the use of various digital resources and educational technology under the competence model, with expert teachers, with the purpose of expand its educational offer and offer training programs at the local, regional, national and international level.
On behalf of the student community, Brenda Hernández Pérez, a Chemical Engineering student, expressed her approval for the governor’s attendance at this event, since it is a good sign that speaks of her commitment to education.
It should be noted that 19 million 119 thousand 440 pesos were invested in the Teaching Unit 6 building that will house the academic program of Automotive Systems Engineering; A resource of 25 million 806 thousand 279 pesos was allocated to the building of laboratories and workshops 3 and consists of engineering laboratories, automotive systems, chemical engineering, industrial engineering and postgraduate studies.
