Lorca’s tragedy comes to life at the Reina Victoria Theater

This October, Madrid hosts the world premiere of a production that, inspired by Broadway style, takes to the musical theater the adaptation of one of the iconic works of Federico García Lorca: Blood Wedding. A show that reinvents the Lorca tragedy with an ambitious staging and a large-format musical composition.

The play faithfully follows Lorca’s original drama, where desire, passion and fatal destiny intertwine in rural Spain. The story, starring a young woman who sees her commitment threatened by the return of an old love, has been very present in the theater and has also been successfully filmed, and now also reaches the musical theater genre. He original textthe dramatic structure, the plot, the poetic language, the characters and the setting of scenes are maintained, however, ‘Blood Wedding, the musical’ incorporates various musical styles linked to character traits. Thus, you can hear typical musical rhythms, and also jazz, choral poem, music hall, popular song, swing, ballad, bossa nova… and even a nod to the copla.

A work composed by Miguel Tubía, directed by Pedro Martínez and produced by King Produce, which can only be seen on October 15 at the Reina Victoria Theater and tickets are now on sale.
