The Governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro, charged again against the undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo López-Gatell by ensuring that the federal official changed the criteria regarding epidemiological traffic light and to put Jalisco in a red level “because it feels like it”.
In a message on his social networks, the Jalisco president also claimed that in the cabinet of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador there are those who “seek to continue beating and betting on the confrontation,” referring to the undersecretary, however, he assured, he will comply with the “truce” brought before the head of the Federal executive during his visit to the state.
“We are no longer going to hook up with him. Each one will put history in his place … But we are going to fulfill what we are left with. In Jalisco the word pawned is worth it,” he warned.

Enrique Alfaro’s claim comes after the Health Secretary It will postpone the update of the epidemiological traffic light considering that the data presented by the entities registered inconsistencies.
After verifying and adjusting the figures, which López-Gatell clarified did not have to do with negligence or intent on the part of the state governments, the federal health authority presented this indicator update on Friday, same that positioned 18 entities in red, among which Jalisco is located.

Therefore, the state president accused that the undersecretary, “without saying water goes, changes the criteria for making the traffic light again and turns us red because he wants to”, a fact that, he considers, is part of the political agenda of López-Gatell, who seeks to confront the federal and state governments.
“There are things that are hopeless. @HLGatell is still on his political agenda. His whims have already cost Mexico many lives. He does not understand that the pandemic is a serious matter,” the president accused.
In this sense, on July 7 Alfaro announced the implementation of an emergency button to stop practically all the economic activities of the state for 14 days if the hospital capacity exceeds 50% or if the weekly incidence of cases exceeds 400 per 100 thousand inhabitants.

The latest measurement of these indicators, published last Sunday, indicates that there are 619 beds to be occupied to exceed 50% and 170.3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants to reach 400.
