López-Gatell lies about rapid tests for Covid-19, accuses Alfaro

The Governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro, asked the federal government to remove an import blockade of rapid tests early detection of Covid-19 and assured that the undersecretary of Health, Hugo López-Gatell, lies when stating that there is no rapid test endorsed by any health authority.

“(Undersecretary López Gatell) is a timely request and one that we have made with all due respect. What we cannot accept is that with lies our approach is disqualified. We cannot accept that Mexico continues without measuring the possible contagions as it should. We are acting blind, “he said.

He noted that Jalisco wants to help move the country forward and the only thing that is required is to do more tests to detect possible ones faster. contagion cases, to isolate them and prevent the virus from spreading.

Alfaro said that on the FDA website there is an immunological antibody test “SARS-CoV IgG / IgM rapid test” endorsed by the world body.

“But if this answer is not enough, in the sense that there are supported immunological tests, there is one at the outset, I want to tell you that there are also rapid molecular tests, three at least endorsed by the FDA, here we have it, among they are the Xpert that we have put on the table as an option, ”said the president in a video published on his social networks because, according to him, the undersecretary does not answer the phone.

“What there has been is a series of disqualifications particularly to the proposal that we have put on the table to apply rapid tests to make an early detection, not to establish a specific mechanism or treatment, but to be able to make early detections and isolate the patients, apply a PCR test to confirm and then avoid further infections. That is what Jalisco put on the table and the only thing we have had as an answer is a no that has no explanation, “said Enrique Alfaro.

Yesterday, the governor said that López-Gatell could well be accused of “treason to the fatherland” for not applying tests. Today, when asked by the press, the undersecretary only sent a greeting to the governor.
