The first ‘Space Jam’ film, in which Michael Jordan is kidnapped by animated characters from Looney Tunes, was a huge success in 1996. The print raised more than 200 million euros and the proceeds from all merchandise amounted to around 5 billion euros in total. It is therefore logical that there will be a sequel.

In ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’, NBA champion LeBron James and Looney Tunes legend Bugs Bunny face a new adventure. LeBron and his son Dom are imprisoned in a digital world by a false AI (artificial intelligence). If they want to return to their familiar life, the basketball player must compete with the Looney Tunes against the Goons, the digital champions of the AI.

In addition to James and the Looney Tunes characters, actor Don Cheadle and actress Sonequa Martin-Green will also be featured in the sequel. NBA players Klay Thompson, Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul and Kyle Kuzma will have a cameo, as will WNBA players Diana Taurasi, Nneka Ogwumike and Chiney Ogwumike.

‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’ can be seen in theaters from July 14, 2021.
