ULLEVAAL (Dagbladet): The fades against Hungary in 2015 and Turkey in 2007 were repeated at Ullevaal on Thursday night.
– We are just not good enough in the most important matches, it takes us today and- We can not say anything other than that it is deserved, John Arne Riise admitted in Dagbladet studio.
– Overall, they win deservedly, there is nothing else to say, Lagberbäck himself told TV 2.
– I will not swear, but this is very awkward, Haaland says to TV 2 after the match.
–
Kristoffer Ajer reveals that there is no good atmosphere in the locker room after the match.
– It’s miserable. We had big ambitions to qualify for the championship, he says.
For the Serbs clearly produced the most chances. Mathis Normann saved extra innings for Norway, but there the Serbs clearly showed themselves best again, where they almost played to the victory.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic chipped in the decisive goal in the first extra round, after Norway was totally outplayed.
Thus, there will be no play-off final in November for games in next summer’s European Championship finals for Norway.
Serbian shock withdrawal
Serbia’s national team manager Ljubisa Tumbakovic surprised by beating star Milinkovic-Savic, Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic, and Crystal Palace player Luka Milivojevic, but hit on the tactics.
For the first 45 minutes, the Serbs produced chances like pearls on a string, but were totally ineffective. Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic got several of them, including a ball he blew over from five meters, while the Norwegian cage was wide open.
– It’s not possible. We are lucky, commented John Arne Riise in Dagbladet’s studio.
Despite the fact that Norway struggled, they got a chance by Erling Braut Haaland on a corner kick, but a defender saved the header on the line.

Made grips
The problems in the first half meant that Lars Lagerbäck had to take action.
That meant Markus Henriksen out during the break, while Matthias Normann came in.
But it helped little. Serbia dominance continued.
Ten minutes into the second half, Filip Djuricic had to take the ball down inside Norway’s five-meter, and finish completely free. But a huge save by Rune Almening Jarstein saved Norway.
When Stefan Johansen had to go out with an injury midway through the half, Lagerbäck made an offensive effort to put in Joshua King.
With King on the field, the match leveled out, and the substitute even tried the shot foot from distance, but the shot was saved.
But then Serbia raised its big star. After a short tussle with the defender, Milinkovic-Savic finally tucked the ball home. In the field he ran free, and when the ball was headed in at five meters, he placed the ball in goal.
Equalization and extra innings
Then Norway raised everything in attack, and a few minutes before the end Normann knocked the ball down in the corner from 17-18 meters, and secured extra innings.
The Serbia domination continued. Towards the end of the first extra round, Serbia got a huge double chance. First Lazovic shot in the post, then Mitrovic’s finish was saved by Jarstein.
But that was just a warning. The minute after, Norway was again totally outplayed. Serbia rolled up inside Norway’s 16-meter. Finally, Milinkovic-Savic got the ball inside the five-meter at an angle, and chipped the ball over the keeper and into the net.
