Looking for donations and families for rescued animals

April 4, 2022 – 01:30
Within the framework of the Day of Good Deeds, volunteers from Salta shared the day at the Pacha Uywa Foundation, in the Salta macro-centre.

From the Pacha Uywa Foundation, in Salta capital, they invite the community to collaborate with donations or to responsibly adopt rescued and recovered dogs and cats.

Yesterday morning, dozens of volunteers met at the headquarters of this organization, at Vicente López 1224, to celebrate Good Deeds Day for the seventh consecutive year.

Within the framework of this day, they sought to raise awareness about responsible ownership and the importance of adopting animals.

Currently, more than 50 dogs and 15 cats rescued from abuse and from the street live together in the Pacha UYWA foundation: 30 of them are able to find a family.

Ana Guantay, in charge of the foundation, told The Tribune that it would be good to have more support from the community to cope with the tasks they carry out.

Those who want to collaborate can donate unused sheets, towels and blankets, foam mattresses, ice cream buckets or empty drums, bibs, straps, fleece to make vests, balanced food and non-perishable food, such as rice, noodles and broths.

At this time it would be very good for them to have a clothes dryer, since the ones they had were ruined after the very strong storm that occurred last month. Having one would allow them to more easily wash the blankets and fabrics that the animals use every day.

At the foundation’s headquarters they have a garage fair with second-hand clothes and they sell food to pay for medicines, veterinary care and physiotherapy for the animals. You can also donate clothes, shoes and jewelry to add to the fair.

To get in touch, you have to call or send a WhatsApp to 3874028185. You can also search for “Pacha Uywa” on social networks.

“We seek to do good”

Good Deeds Day was born in 2007 in Israel and is replicated in more than 100 countries.

In previous editions, the volunteers from Salta went to different neighborhoods of the city, who applied online to receive them. This year they decided to work with the animals and chose the Pacha Uywa Foundation, which they have known for many years, because they share this activity every year.

Raquel Guzmán, coordinator of the Good Deeds Day in Salta, explained that with this proposal they seek to “do good”: “Many volunteers can do something to positively impact other people and the whole world.”
