Anyone looking to rent a house in the capital can count on this Friday, August 14, with an alternative that will be much more affordable. Applications for the Accessible Income program of the Lisbon City Council have already opened.

Applications are made through the platform Inhabit Lisbon until the 14th of September. You therefore have one month to apply for this special affordable rental plan.

In all, there are three dozen houses, with types from T1 to T4, with rents that can be between 150 € and 800 €. The range of possible parishes is quite comprehensive. They are: Ajuda, Alcântara, Arroios, Avenidas Novas, Belém, Benfica, Estrela, Lumiar, Marvila, Olivais, Penha de França, Santa Clara, São Domingos de Benfica and São Vicente.

To apply for one of these houses you must be at least 18 years old, a valid residence permit in the national territory and cannot own any other property in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. The current legislation specifies the minimum and maximum values ​​applicable to the program. Rents cannot exceed 30% of households’ net income.

The first phase of the draw for affordable housing took place earlier this year. Applications closed on January 31 and had more than three thousand candidates. Who at the time did not have access to one of the available houses, can apply in this new phase.
