Mayor Halsema has given clarity in a press conference tonight about the additional measures that will come into force to prevent further spread of the corona virus.

The contamination figures have been rising for a while and the city has been going very fast in recent weeks. It was therefore expected that additional measures would be taken in the Amsterdam Safety Region. At 7 p.m., during the press conference of Prime Minister Rutte and Minister De Jonge, it became clear that a ‘national approach’ had been chosen instead of regional differences.
What is different in Amsterdam, is that shopkeepers here have customers without mouth masks may refuse. During the press conference that Halsema gave she continued: she speaks of ‘all public interior spaces’. This also includes catering establishments and gyms.

Throughout the country, the catering industry has to close at 10 p.m., fewer guests are allowed in the house and an audience is no longer allowed to attend sports matches. Working from home is also strongly recommended.
