What do you give an artist who has been in the business for 25 years? Efteling came with a very special gift. Guus Meeuwis got his own version of the water spectacle Aquanura on Thursday evening: ‘Aquanura with a soft G’.

Preparations
There has been a lot of rehearsal in recent days. On Thursday evening, the two hundred fountains brought an ode to Guus in a spectacular 12-minute spectacle. Arrangements have been written especially for this event that bring together typical Efteling music with Meeuwis’ greatest hits. A monster job.

Largest water show in Europe
Aquanura is the largest water show in Europe. And in the world, Efteling only has to give precedence to shows in Dubai and Las Vegas. 200 fountains, divided into nine types, each with its own scope and effect, provide a spectacular water show. With 900 lamps in the pond and 29 light and sound masts, that show is a feast for the eyes.

That spectacle has now been temporarily given a new look in honor of Guus’s 25th anniversary. The show bears the title ‘Aquanura with a soft G’, a reference to Guus Meeuwis’ famous concert series. He would actually give his stadium concerts for the fifteenth time this year, but corona also threw a spanner in the works here.

No visitors, but online and on TV
Due to the tightened corona measures, Efteling was unable to share this premiere with hundreds of visitors in the park. That is why Omroep Brabant broadcasted ‘Aquanura with a soft G’ live on online and TV.
