Look at those idiots. Driving on the highway in cars without a driver! – AutoTN.cz

Tesla’s autopilot is certainly an advanced technology, but it is definitely not yet designed to replace drivers. Although the head of the American carmaker wants his electric cars to be fully autonomous in the future, nowadays the Autopilot function still requires the driver to sit in the driver’s seat, pay attention to traffic, have his hands on the steering wheel and be ready to take control of the car.

After several serious accidents that took place in autonomous driving mode, Tesla had to adjust its system to require his hands on the steering wheel. Since then, it is repeatedly emphasized, it is also stated in the manual.

The Autopilot designation is misleading in this case, as the German court told the manufacturer, among other things, in the summer. It is one of the advanced driver assistants, enabling assisted second-level steering, ie partially automated driving: In some cases, the driver can transfer continuous steering in the longitudinal and transverse directions to the system, but must constantly monitor the driving situation and take control if necessary. He is therefore constantly responsible for management.

Yet many people still think that Tesla can ride alone. Some even in full operation “test” what cars without a driver can do and still brag about it on social networks.

Like this “fool” in the Model X, who shows Tesla whizzing down the highway, the driver’s seat is empty and the author of the video is having a good time from the passenger seat:

Tesla recently introduced measures to prevent similar behavior – the sensor is to detect that the driver’s hand is on the steering wheel. But “smart” thinks of various attachments that are attached to the steering wheel to fool the sensors, or help themselves with an orange, for example…

Various extensions can also be purchased on the Internet, which in turn simulate fastened belts. Another sensor should deactivate autonomous steering if the driver’s seat is unoccupied. But even the pressure sensor is not difficult to deceive or simply decommission.

Another recent case proves this – a group of young men went to a party in Tesla. The party went right on board, the young men filming on TikTok, passionately singing romantic songs while having lots of cans of alcohol around them. The car moves on the highway at a speed of 60 miles per hour (over 96 km / h) and no one is sitting in the driver’s seat again:

No, this really isn’t fun, it’s just proof of utter stupidity.
