Longeville-lès-Saint-Avold. Donations to enchant the Christmas of sick children

Since 2017 and its foundation, each Christmas rhymes with a special operation for the Second Star charity. In 2020, she had collected two hundred new toys for the benefit of the Nancy Children’s Hospital. This year, the objective is quite different and far more ambitious: to raise 4,000 euros in donations.

Children play journalists

“After last year’s distribution, I wondered what more we could bring to these sick children,” explains Guillaume Oster, president and founder of the association. And then I learned that to keep busy, they produced a little TV news every day, broadcast internally. They really like to do that. “

But the concern is that the equipment made available to young patients is outdated, defective and often unusable. The idea is then clear for the president of Second Star: to collect money to provide sick children with the means to produce their news in the best conditions.

“I went to see a company to make an estimate on the complete replacement of the equipment and its installation in the hospital,” explains the founder of the association. And of the amount of the estimate, I made the objective of the donation campaign: 4,000 euros! “

The companies solicited

The harvest began this summer, with the opening of a Leetchi pot on which individuals could make donations – at present, it totals nearly five hundred euros. But since the 1is November, Guillaume Oster turned to business. “Crédit Mutuel has promised us a donation of five hundred to one thousand euros,” he says. We will soon have an appointment with the town hall of Longeville-lès-Saint-Avold. We have also contacted large companies, we are awaiting their response. ”

Although he has already worked with several organizations, the case of sick children particularly affects the founder of the association. “These are children suffering from terrible diseases such as cancer, children whose families sometimes live two or three hundred kilometers from the hospital, children whom the health crisis has deprived of visitation for several months”, summarizes- he.

The prize pool is expected to end on December 20, with a check remittance to the hospital on the 25 or 26 of the month. “There is no minimum, each small donation is important, it is always by coming together that we achieve our objectives”, urges Guillaume Oster.
