While arranging my library yesterday, I discovered her novel “Journey to Self”. And… the arrangement was there. So I counted myself that the day seemed like a second. Blaga Dimitrova begins to create in a contradictory time, when the writing person is faced with the challenge to look for an allegorical poetic language – frank, but also ambiguous, polysemic, to express his own, asserting style and at the same time be challenging, modern, even absurd.
I will not talk about the novel, because I am convinced that every intelligent person, regardless of their age, has read it. But still, he reinforced in me the belief that the longest and steepest is the road to oneself. Our essence is constantly changing and eluding us. No one has yet discovered a direct and easy path to the true self. This path goes around through others. To understand yourself, you must understand others. Mistakes accompany this wandering. To discover yourself, it takes courage, inner freedom and the right to experiment.
