A junior high school student from Xingya Junior High School slowly recited a short paragraph from a book, which represents that the younger generation cares about another corner of the world. What I read aloud was a page excerpted from “This Turbulent World”. I walked through Long Yingtai in East Berlin, Moscow, Gaza Corridor, Jerusalem, and Havana. It was recorded through many letters and photos and the stories and truthful interviews. The characters tell all readers in this book that cruelty and violence actually have a context to follow. She has compiled these records in a new book, which is exciting to look forward to.
During the lecture, many photos that were not included in the book were also exposed. Long Yingtai’s profound appeal moved many fans and readers. Some young readers said that they read the events mentioned in the book, such as the Berlin Wall, from their textbooks. I don’t know about the rest, but I would like to buy a book to learn more. Some readers said that they did not realize that war is such a cruel thing, and that their social status may become an unwelcome intruder overnight. , suffered discrimination or mistreatment, or even worse, became a refugee overnight. I am lucky not to be one of them, but after reading this book, I will realize that I should care more about this world.
