Long weekend of April 25th with a red stamp, Anas stops 564 construction sites

(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 24 – The great cities of art and seaside resorts will be the most popular destinations for the next spring weekends. And there will be three red-sticker days on the roads: tomorrow morning for departures and the afternoons of Sunday 28 April and May 1st, for returns. In anticipation of the increase in traffic on its road and motorway network, Anas has decided to remove 564 construction sites, 56% of the total, with the aim of limiting traffic disruption and ensuring smoother traffic. On the remaining 459 immovable construction sites, the company has planned a program of alternative routes for the most critical sections for the busiest days. During the entire period, surveillance will be increased and the constant presence of staff will be guaranteed. At a regional level, intense flows are expected towards Lazio, Campania, Liguria, Puglia, Tuscany and Abruzzo. For returns to the large cities, traffic will be concentrated along the main routes starting from the afternoon of Sunday 28 April and Sunday 5 May. Among the itineraries involved: in Lazio, the Grande Raccordo Anulare and the A91 Rome-Fiumicino; in the Milan area the state road 36 of Lake Como and Spluga; in Turin the 10 Turin-Caselle motorway junction and in Naples the 163 Amalfitana state road. To facilitate travel, the circulation of heavy vehicles will be suspended on Thursday 25 April, Sunday 28 April, Wednesday 1 May from 09.00 to 22.00. Also in view of the counter-exodus on Sunday 5 May the blockade will be in force from 09.00 to 22.00. Anas’s presence on the road consists of 250 resources on shifts, technical and operational staff, plus 230 units from the Territorial Operations Rooms and the National Situation Room to ensure real-time traffic monitoring 24 hours a day.
