“Long-Term Unemployed Receive Increased Citizen Money: Boosting Household Income”

Long-term unemployed get through the new citizen money since January significantly more money from the office!

On average, there is 145 euros more per community of need than in the previous year, couples with children even get 255 euros more per month!

According to performance statistics from the Federal Employment Agency (BA), the average household received 1,213 euros in citizen’s income including housing and heating costs. In January 2022, the average was still 1068 euros.

There is the most for support recipients in the Hessian regions of Groß-Gerau with 1382 euros per month, in the Main-Taunus district (1356 euros) and Offenbach (1352 euros). They receive the least in the Saxon Erzgebirge district (981 euros) and in the Bavarian cities of Kronach (998 euros) and Ansbach (999 euros).

Also important: the size of the household.

► Singles: People living alone receive 941 euros – 83 euros more than in January 2022 (858 euros).

► Single parents: 1329 euros – 201 euros more (2022: 1128 euros).

► Couple without children: 1289 euros, plus 158 euros (1131 euros).

► Couple with children: 1969 euros, increase of 255 euros (1714 euros).

The greatest increase in performance was in Rottweil (BaWü). Citizens’ income households there now receive an average of 283 euros more (1255 instead of 972 euros) than in the previous year.
