After fashion brands and textile manufacturers (read our article again), it is the turn of independent retailers in the sector to announce the signing of a branch agreement. This will allow access to better compensation for companies and employees than traditional partial unemployment.

Announced by the National Clothing Federation (FNH), the agreement is the result of three months of negotiations with CFDT, CFTC and UNSA. Intended to allow companies to secure jobs while waiting for a sustainable resumption of activity, the agreement offers compensation under certain conditions.

Independent retailers must commit to limiting the use of short-time work to twelve months, consecutive or not, out of the twenty-four months running until January 31, 2023.

The share of partial activity must also not exceed 40% on average per six-month period, a percentage which may be increased to 50% in the event of an exceptional situation. The agreement also includes commitments in terms of training.

For the employee, while the classic partial activity mechanism will only involve 60% of the gross remuneration from February 1, 2021, the adoption of this agreement guarantees the maintenance of 70% of the gross remuneration on the hourly basis. partial unemployment. For the employer, for whom the traditional device will reduce compensation to 36%, this long-term agreement makes it possible to maintain aid at 60% of gross income.

“This agreement was an absolute priority which will allow independent clothing-textile traders to get through the coming months of the crisis, to maintain competitiveness and to preserve skills with a view to the recovery”, indicates the president of the FNH, Eric Mertz. A recovery expected by companies “affected by a lasting decline in their activity and whose prospects are very worrying”, underlines Etienne Djelloul, President of the Commission. permanent negotiation and interpretation department (CPPNI).
