Marieke van der Heijden, Aidsfonds: ‘In southern Africa in particular, there are still hundreds of thousands of children with HIV who do not receive life-saving medicines. The Long-She-Long-live-garland draws attention to this problem in a striking way and is immediately a concrete way to contribute to the solution. And who wouldn’t want such a cheerful Bas Kosters design at home?’
Bas Kosters is known for his colorful and cheerful designs. ‘The starting points for this party garland were African culture and animals, birthday party and my own distinct style,’ he says. ‘I think it is very important to use my creativity to contribute to education about HIV and the fight against AIDS, which is why I started working with this pendulum with love.’
