Through the night cloud cover will be significant, no precipitation. A weak westerly will blow in Northern Bulgaria wind. The minimum temperatures will be between 0° and 5°, in Sofia – about 1°. IN Sunday (December 31) early in the morning the clouds will break and decrease, over most of the country to mostly sunny weather. There will be more clouds over the extreme southern regions, but there will be no precipitation. Before noon there will be fog in places in the lowlands and hollows. It will be almost silent. The maximum temperatures will be between 9° and 14°, in Sofia – around 10°. This was announced by the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).
IN new Year’s Eve over most of the country it will be mostly clear, but in the Upper Thracian plain, along the Black Sea and along the Danube, there will be low clouds or fog. Temperatures at midnight will be between 2° and 7°, in Sofia – about 2°.
Above The Black Sea cloud cover will be mostly significant, without precipitation. Temporary breaks and reductions to mostly sunny weather will occur over northern areas. The wind will be weak, before noon from the west, after noon it will shift from the east. Maximum temperatures will be 10°-12°. The temperature of the sea water is 8°-10°. The excitement but the sea will be 1 ball. Above the mountains Clouds will be scattered over most areas to mostly sunny. There will be more significant increases in cloudiness over the mountains in the extreme southern regions of the country, but it will be without precipitation. A light to moderate wind will blow from the west-southwest. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be about 9°, at 2000 meters – about 1°.
IN Monday (January 1) there will be scattered clouds; it will be foggy in places on the plains. The minimum temperatures will be between minus 1° and 4°, and the maximum – between 8° and 13°. In Tuesday (January 2) an atmospheric disturbance will pass through the country. Cloudiness will be significant and light rain will fall in places from west to east, snow will fall in the mountains above 1800 m.
In January, the average monthly temperature is expected to be around the norm, which in Northern Bulgaria and the high fields is between minus 2° and 1°, along the Black Sea, in the Upper Thracian lowland and the valley of the Struma River – from 0° to 4°, and in the mountainous regions – between minus 10° and minus 3°, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) also informs on its website. The lowest temperatures in January will be between minus 13° and minus 8°, along the Black Sea – around minus 3°, and the highest – between 13° and 18°.
The monthly amount of precipitation will be around and above the norm, which is between 30 and 70 l/sq.m. In January, the dynamics of atmospheric processes over the Balkan Peninsula will be increased. The month will start with warm and dry weather. Clouds, medium and high, will increase and thicken. It will be foggy in places on the plains. Chance of rain increases around the 3rd, in the mountains – from snow.
Through the second half from the first ten days there is an increased probability of passing Mediterranean cyclone and the creation of rainy conditions. Precipitation will be significant in places. Temperatures will drop and in Northern and Western Bulgaria the rain will turn to snow.
On most days of the second ten days the weather will be dynamically with frequent rainfall: in Northern and Western Bulgaria mainly from snow, and in the Upper Thracian lowland and along the Black Sea – from rain, on separate days turning into snow. Temperatures will be close, in places and lower than usual.
Through the third ten days temperatures will be close to normal. Greater likelihood of situations with precipitation there are at the beginning and middle of the period.
