Long queues on the E18

There are long queues on both the E18 and E6 towards Oslo on Monday morning.

– There is a lot of traffic and the queues go very slowly, says traffic operator at Vegtrafikksentralen, Hans Are Dahl, to Dagbladet.

He says that there are several factors that may have caused the long queues towards the capital. A lorry train was stopped in the Oslofjord tunnel on Monday morning, which led to the tunnel being closed in both directions for several hours. In addition, several train sections have been closed to traffic due to power problems.

This includes the section between Kolbotn and Oslo S and between Sandvika and Asker.

– We are working to correct the error, but do not know how long it will take, Bane Nor announced in the morning.

Just after 09 o’clock, Bane Nor informs that the error at Sandvika has been corrected. Less than an hour later, the section at Holmlia has also reopened.

At Vika in Oslo, there has been a collision between a bus and a truck. No people are injured, but it is causing queues and traffic problems in the area, police write.

– It is difficult to say when the traffic will loosen, says Dahl and encourages all motorists to be attentive and patient.

Just after 10 o’clock Dahl informs that the traffic is about to normalize.

– There is still a queue on Mosseveien and by Sandvika, but the traffic volume is also declining in these areas. It will probably not take very long before the traffic is normalized again, he says to Dagbladet.
