A large group of motorcyclists and scooter riders has commemorated a 21-year-old motorcyclist who died this month after an accident with a procession through Purmerend.

The 21-year-old motorcyclist from Purmerend was seriously injured on November 8 when he hit his motorcycle on the Purmerenderweg in Zuidoostbeemster. flew out of the corner. He was taken to hospital and later died.
As a final greeting, a friend of the victim had called on social media to drive ‘with as many motorcyclists as possible’ through Purmerend. Hundreds of people responded and gathered at the local McDonald’s around 8 p.m. The motorcyclists then drove in a procession to the accident site and then to the home of the victim’s parents. Photos show fireworks being set off. Flowers have also been placed at the scene of the accident. Officers were on hand to escort the procession.
“He loved life and motorcycling and that’s how it ended at age 21,” the friend wrote in the call about the victim. “The mess he leaves behind is unpredictable and the grief enormous.”
