From the early hours of this Sunday, September 19, long lines are observed at vaccination posts in some municipalities of Managua and Carazo to obtain the first dose of the vaccine against covid-19 that will be applied this September 20 to the population older than 30 years in Nicaragua, as announced last week by the sanctioned Vice President Rosario Murillo.
“I have passed by a vaccination post and there is a line, I do not want to imagine tomorrow how many people there will be. Do not forget the distance and the measures. Those of us over thirty are a fairly large population ”, wrote the lawyer Yonarqui Martínez on Twitter.

Until this September 19, the vaccines were only available for people with chronic diseases and over 45 years of age, some of whom already have both doses of the different formulas applied in Nicaragua, such as AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, or Covishield.
The Daniel Ortega regime announced that its goal is to vaccinate 2.8 million people, equivalent to 43.8% of the 6.5 million inhabitants, according to official data, EFE revealed in a publication.

To date, the independent covid-19 Nicaragua observatory has reported 1,086 new suspected cases of coronavirus and 276 new deaths between September 9 and 15 due to the virus in the country. For its part, the Ministry of Health reported that Nicaragua registered 675 new confirmed cases of covid-19 in the last seven days, the highest number since the virus was detected in this country, and also reported a death from the disease , to add 202 since the start of the pandemic.
