Two allegedly racist Long Island squatters, who hadn’t paid their mortgages for more than a decade, appear to have finally moved out a week after their “abuse” of the justice system was exposed by the Post.
Moving trucks were spotted Wednesday in the driveway of the 1,536-square-foot, four-bedroom, two-bathroom home on Friendly Lane in Jericho, said Bobby Chawla, whose family bought the house 22 years ago. month at a bank auction but was unable to move in because accused squatters Barry and Barbara Pollack did not want to leave.
On Friday, the house appeared empty and the Pollacks were nowhere to be found.
“It feels like a Christmas miracle, I can’t believe it,” said Chawla, who cannot officially take over the house without a judge’s approval.
“I felt a sense of relief. . . . but I will not be satisfied until I am in possession of my house. This guy can’t be trusted.
The Pollacks purchased the house in September 1990 for $255,000, but in 2006 they ran into financial difficulties and ended up fighting in three different courts for 17 years to stay.

The house ended up at bank auction after the couple was sued for foreclosure in 2008 and the case dragged on for 11 years, records show.
They then began filing “skeletal” and “frivolous” bankruptcies, according to court documents.
The records automatically put a hold on any evictions — including in November, when movers hired by the Chawlas to empty the house were forced to abandon their efforts after Barbara Pollack showed up with bankruptcy documents.

Barry Pollack was filmed telling the Chawlas, whose parents are from India, to “go back to Pakistan”.
On Friday, a federal bankruptcy judge barred the Pollacks from continuing their proceedings.
“Although most debtors are honest, hardworking individuals seeking a fresh start in bankruptcy, these debtors are not,” said the Chawlas’ attorney, Heath Berger.

“I hope they have filed their final petition with the bankruptcy court.”
Barry Pollack did not return a message.
