Long Island Motel Involved in Drug and Sex Trafficking Crimes Sold for $2 Million

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York ordered and announced the sale of a Long Island motel allegedly involved in drug and sex trafficking crimes.

This is the Sayville Motor Lodge, which has been sold for $2 million dollars.

According to court documents, the co-owners and an employee of the motel, who also resided there, facilitated the criminal acts to benefit themselves.

The crimes occurred for approximately four years, between 2014 and 2018, with two men who coordinated sex and drug trafficking, in harmony with the co-owners and the aforementioned worker.

“The defendants allowed customers to freely consume drugs, including heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine, in plain sight and in motel rooms,” the district attorney’s office said.

Following the sale of the motel, proceeds are expected to go to the property’s previous lenders and also be used to compensate victims of sex trafficking.

Six people arrested for crimes at Long Island motel

According to the Eastern District Prosecutor’s Office, a total of 6 people were arrested in relation to the case. Two of the detainees were co-owners of the motel, approximately 70 years old.

“As a result of this sale, Sayville Motor Lodge is no longer ground zero for an insidious source of income for prostitution and narcotics trafficking, and a blight on the surrounding community,” said U.S. Attorney Breon Peace.
