NEW YORK – After trading Halloween candy with friends, a girl found a razor inside a chocolate bar she took while trading candy, or trick-or-treating, on Long Island, police said.
Suffolk County Police said the weapon was the knife that was discovered by a 13-year-old girl Thursday night inside a tiny Three Musketeers-branded chocolate bar after she went to ask for sweets on Monday. said the teenager from Paul J. Gelinas High School in East Setauket had spent the last few days trading sweets with her friends.
But the blade was found inside the candy while she was at home and her mother immediately reported it to the police shortly after 7:30 pm.
It wasn’t immediately clear where the chocolate bar came from, but police have recommended that parents be present when children open the candy they received during Halloween, especially in Stony Brook and Setauket.
